Interview with Youri Duplessis Kergomard: Perfection
“An relentless search for perfection is our common motivation”
What can be the common denominator between Rising Stone and high-performing athletes? We asked this question to Youri Duplessis Kergomard, champion of ski cross from Meribel, who has an impressive track record: multiple times champion of France, champion of Europe and fourth in the world last season. He is competing under the Rising Stone colors this season.
How did the partnership with Rising Stone come about?
We met in an informal manner in Meribel last winter, during the world championship for alpine skiing which was taking place in the 3 Valleys. The connection was immediate and we realized that we shared many of the same values: a general love of the mountains and particularly Meribel, a passion for skiing, and also a constant search for excellence. We simply wanted to work together for a while. Through this partnership, I will share my experience during various themed evenings or ski encounters organized for Rising Stone clients.
Tell us more about the shared common values
In the competition on the slopes, but equally in luxury real-estate - a sector that I know well and for which I have a passion -, perfection is of utmost importance to reach optimal performance. At my level that translates through a specific attention to details pushed to the extreme with a single objective to be prepared on the big day. Nothing can be left to chance: rest, meals, physical and mental preparation, materials optimized…It is the combination of many small details that create the final result. In sports, as in companies, it is necessary to continuously push further forward if we want to reach the top.
Reach one’s dreams?
The ski cross is an Olympique sport, so logically, my principal objective is a gold medal at the next Olympique Games to be held in Italy in 2026. In the meantime, there are twenty stages of world Cups that I will take-on this winter. Objective: don’t miss any opportunities and be in the general classification. A shared obsession for excellence with his new sponsors, this is what constitutes the common basis of their new collaboration.
